Tour Plan - Itinerary
Day 1
Arrival In Srinagar; Head to Gulmarg; Gulmarg Sightseeing
    •Pick-up from Sheikh Ul Alam International Airport in Srinagar by a Private vehicle.
  • •We will depart for Gulmarg, driving around 02 hours (51 km) from the airport.
  • •We'll drive past vibrant villages and sprawling rice fields, giving you a glimpse into Kashmir's rich cultural history and social heritage.
  • •We will arrive at Tangmarg, a small and beautiful market town on our way. After a brief halt, we will continue on another 14 km scenic drive to Gulmarg.
  • •Upon Arrival, We will check into our hotel, where we will unpack and freshen up.
  • •Enjoy your time in Gulmarg, explore it thoroughly, and enjoy a magnificent gondola ride. (The expenses for this ride will not be covered by Sand and Peaks)
  • •We will return to our accommodation in Gulmarg by the evening, where we will have dinner and spend the night here.
Day 2
Back To Srinagar; Covering All Major Sightseeing Places of Srinagar
    •Following an early breakfast in our hotel at Gulmarg, we will head back to Srinagar.
  • •After reaching our destination, we'll check in to our accommodation (hotel) in Srinagar and freshen up.
  • •After that, we'll be back on the road to cover the remaining significant attractions of the city-Shankar Acharya Temple, Pari Mahal (Palace of Fairies), Tulip Garden, Cheshma Shahi (Mughal Spring), Nishant Garden & Shalimar Garden.
  • •In the evening, we'll return to our hotel accommodation, freshen up and have dinner on the premises.
  • •We'll head back to our rooms shortly after dinner and end our day in hotel accommodation in Srinagar.
Day 3
Srinagar To Pahalgam; Midway Sightseeing For Various Attractions
    •We'll start our day with a tasty breakfast on the deck of our hotel in Srinagar.
  • •After breakfast, we'll check out and head towards Pahalgam in our private car. It is a 3 hours drive (90 km) from Srinagar.
  • •En route, we'll have a quick stop at Pampore's saffron fields, the Awantipura Ruins, and the village of Bijbehara for sightseeing.
  • •On top of that, we'll also drive through Anantnag, Kashmir's second-largest city.
  • •On reaching Pahalgam, we'll check into our accommodation (hotel), unpack, and freshen up.
  • •Later, you're free to spend the day as you please, and it's recommended that you do a sightseeing tour of the magical place and explore all that you can.
  • •Dinner will be ready in some time, and after having a hearty meal, we'll head to bed and end the day in our hotel at Pahalgam.
  • •Optional: A Sightseeing to Betaab and Aru Valleys or the highly religious site of Chandanwari can also be scheduled. It will be charged separately and is not included in the tour. If you wish to have the same, a prior notification at the time of booking will be required.
Day 4
Back To Srinagar; Houseboat Stay and Shikara Ride
    •We will head back to Srinagar after an early breakfast in our hotel at Pahalgam.
  • •After reaching our destination, we'll check in to our accommodation (houseboat) in Srinagar and freshen up.
  • •Post that, we'll go out again to enjoy a round of Shikara Ride and explore Floating Gardens, Vegetable Gardens, Golden Lake, Inner markets like Meena Bazar, Canals, etc.
  • •In the evening, we'll return to our houseboat accommodation, freshen up and have dinner served on the premises.
  • •We'll head back to our rooms shortly after dinner and end our day in houseboat accommodation in Srinagar.
Day 5
Srinagar To Sonmarg; Thajiwas Glacier; Back to Srinagar
    •Breakfast will be served early in the morning.
  • •After having our meal, we'll head out for Sonamarg, approximately 80 kilometers from Srinagar, and it would take you around 03 hours to reach.
  • •Upon reaching Sonamarg, it's recommended that you explore the city thoroughly as you have the whole day for it. Also, it's advised to check out Thajiwas glacier, one of the most popular sightseeing places in Sonamarg.
  • •After you're done for the day, we'll take you back to Srinagar, where you'll enjoy a round of tasty dinners after a tiring day.
  • •Since this is your last night in Kashmir, Sand and Peaks recommend exploring the local market to collect souvenirs.
  • •Finally, we'll end the day in our hotel in Srinagar.
  • •Note: You can hire a Local Taxi Or Pony Ride (at your own Expense) to take local sightseeing in Sonamarg as private taxis are not allowed inside the city.
Day 6
Drop at Srinagar Airport; End of The Tour
    •The breakfast will be served hot on the hotel premises at Srinagar.
  • •Afterward, you're advised to freshen up and pack your bags for the journey home.
  • •We will drop you off at Sheikh Ul Alam International Airport, your departure point, after check-out from the hotel.
  • •This will mark the end of the tour.

  • Personal Expenses Sand and Peaks will not cover anything that comes under the category of personal expenses.
  • Optional Activities Activities such as Shikara Ride, Gondola Ride, and anything not exclusively mentioned in the inclusions are not included in the package.
  • Lunch Meal Lunch is not covered due to the unpredictability of timing and location during lunch hours.
  • Tour Guide This tour does not require to be headed by a tour guide or captain. Hence, it's not included in the package.
  • Flight Tickets Flight tickets are not included and can be booked separately upon request from the individuals.
  • Calamity Expenses Any expense arising from an act of god, natural calamity, or emergency is not accounted for in this package and would have to be paid separately.
  • GST and Service Charge GST (5%) and Service Charge for Online Payment Portal, Razorpay (2.5%) are not included in the price.

Is It Safe To Travel To Kashmir?
    Yes! It's safe to visit Kashmir, and the things we see on televised media are not the actual reality for the main city or tourists.
  • On the contrary, Kashmir has the lowest crime rate against tourists, and most of the income for the state happens through tourism, which is the reason behind its safety. The people are friendly, helpful, and very nice to talk to. And we're not denying the possibility of spotting army vehicles or protected areas. How To Travel To Kashmir From Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore?
    The best convenient way to travel to Kashmir is via Airways, as it's the most suitable in terms of comfort and time.
  • So, if you're coming from Delhi, Mumbai, or Bangalore, you must book a flight to Sheikh Ul Alam International Airport in Srinagar.
  • There are options to travel to Kashmir by road or railways, but again! It might not be the most efficient way, so we prefer not to talk about it.
  • But if you're still concerned about 'how inconvenient,' then you should know that to go to Kashmir by railways, you must book a train to Udhampur of Jammu Tawi. Then take a cab to Srinagar, which will take you approximately 6 to 8 hours on the road.
  • So, yes! It's inconvenient, and Sand and Peaks recommends a journey by flight if you want to visit Kashmir.
Is Kashmir a Good Place For Honeymoon and Why?

When Does It Snow In Kashmir?
    From November to February, all of Kashmir is covered in Snow, and it's one of the most preferred times for honeymooners or families to visit Kashmir.
  • But if you're visiting Kashmir between March and October, you'd also get to see Snow but only in Gulmarg, as it's where it snows all around the year.

How Much Time Does It Take To Travel Kashmir Along With Vaishno Devi?
    That's a very different tour compared to the one where we only visit Kashmir Sightseeing places.
  • Since the City of Jammu and Kashmir is only connected through roadways. The significant difficulty comes in travelling back and forth between these two cities.
  • If you start with Vaishno Devi, you'd have to visit Jammu Tawi station via railway route, complete the tour in the next three days, and then move onto Srinagar, via roadways, which will take approximately 08 hours.
  • Then Kashmir would take anywhere between 05 Nights and 06 Days, and you can take a flight from here back to your hometown.
  • But if you wish to go back on a train to save money, you'd have to spend one extra day on the road while returning from Srinagar to Jammu.
  • The difficulty is that Jammu does not have an airport, and Srinagar does not have a railway station.
What Is The Network Connectivity Status In Jammu and Kashmir?
    The network for any Internet Service Provider works fine, but the only catch is that you'd need a postpaid connection over a prepaid one.
  • And if you enter the lands of Jammu and Kashmir with a prepaid connection, you'll lose signal, and for the rest of the duration, you'd either have to borrow a cell phone with a postpaid connection or not connect with anyone at all.

What To Pack?

    •Woollen Clothes: Jackets, Sweaters, Warm Pants, Gloves, Woollen Caps, and inners are to be carried as it's generally cold in Kashmir.
  • •Trekking Shoes: They are Preferred as they work during all seasons and on most terrains. It is advisable not to carry sports shoes as they have loose grip and would create difficulties walking through regions of snow or less friction.
  • •Undergarments: The number of undergarments and pairs of socks carried should be equal to the days of the tour.
  • •Medications: Prescribed Medications, Diamox For AMS, Vicks Inhaler, Volini Spray For Sprains, Antacids Like Eno, and anything else you find helpful during the tour.
  • •Raincoat: Pack it if you already have it; there's no need to buy one for this tour exclusively.
  • •Daypack: A small 20-liter backpack for carrying personal items during the day journeys to sightseeing places.
  • •Toiletries: Brush, Toothpaste, Tongue Cleaner, Moisturiser, Cold Cream, Lip Balm, Hand Sanitizer, Sun Screen Lotion, and anything else you have in your list of essentials.
  • •Steel Flask or Water Bottle: Keep a water bottle with you to avoid purchasing packaged water, which adds to the plastic waste after being disposed of.
  • •Garbage Pouches: Carry Garbage Pouches at all times with you to avoid littering the surroundings.

  • •Full refund (subtracting the service charge of 2.5% ) will be provided for the booking amount in case of cancellation within 24 hours of confirmation of booking.

Cancellation Policy

    •Suppose the customer cancels the tour with more than 30 days remaining on the departure date and has paid the whole amount for the tour. In that case, the total amount of the tour will be refunded after making a deduction of 10% from the total sum disbursed, including GST.
  • •Suppose the customer cancels the tour with 30 days to 15 days remaining on the departure date and has paid the whole amount for the tour. In that case, the total amount of the tour will be refunded after making a deduction of 25% from the total sum disbursed, including GST.
  • •Suppose the customer cancels the tour with 14 days to 07 days remaining on the departure date and has paid the whole amount for the tour. In that case, the total amount of the tour will be refunded after making a deduction of 60% from the total sum disbursed, including GST.
  • •Suppose the customer cancels the tour with 07 days remaining on the departure date and has paid the whole amount for the tour. There will be no refunds generated.
  • •If the customer has only paid the booking amount and there's a remaining payment on their part, the final booking will be on hold. Under these circumstances, Sand and Peaks reserve the right to cancel the booking without generating any refunds if the customer fails to pay the total amount.
  • •If the tour is canceled for any reason, there's no fault of the client. In that case, Sand and Peaks will be liable to pay back the total amount, which the client has disbursed till the date of cancellation.
  • •No refunds will be generated if the customer fails to show up or arrives at the departure point at the scheduled date and time.

Required Documents

    •You are requested to keep your Aadhaar Card (All Individuals) for identification purposes at various places such as airports, hotel check-ins, and more.
  • •Covid Vaccinations certificates are not necessary for entering Kashmir, but you should still have them in your possession in case the need arises.
  • •Essential documents such as passports, Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Wallets, Flight Tickets, and any other key documents should be kept in close proximity and not be left in hotel rooms or anywhere else at all times throughout the tour.
